Governor’s Award of Excellence
West Shore Medical Center has also been the recipient of the Governor's Award of Excellence. The award honors Michigan hospitals that are actively engaged in improving the quality of patient care. West Shore is proud to have received recognition for our inpatient care, emergency room services, and surgical care.

Continued Quality Improvement
West Shore is actively involved in region-wide initiatives to improve the care of patients suffering from life-threatening heart attacks and infections. Hospitals and health care providers from throughout northern Michigan are working together to standardize practices and improve the timely delivery of care for these patients.

West Shore also is participating in three statewide Michigan Hospital Association projects to ensure that mothers and newborns and surgical and intensive care patients receive the safest care possible.

High Patient Satisfaction
Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a national research firm, has recognized West Shore with a 5-star Excellence Award for inpatient obstetrics services three years in a row and a 4-star Excellence Award for overall inpatient services two years in a row. The PRC awards are based on feedback from randomly selected inpatients and outpatients.
