Our Commitment to Quality

West Shore Medical Center is committed to providing compassionate and quality health care services. To help achieve and maintain these high standards, we believe in internal quality measurement, as well as adhering to state and national standards of excellence.
ISO Certification
Since 2001, West Shore Medical Center has been certified to the ISO 9001:2000 quality standard. The International Organization of Standardization (ISO) originated as an internal quality process for manufacturing. ISO has expanded into many other areas beyond manufacturing, including health care.
As an ISO-certified organization, West Shore continually evaluates itself through an internal auditing process. Audits are conducted monthly by associates to help maintain the quality process. In addition, audits are conducted by outside firms annually to remain ISO-certified.
Governor’s Award of Excellence
West Shore Medical Center has also been the recipient of the Governor's Award of Excellence. The award honors Michigan hospitals that are actively engaged in improving the quality of patient care. West Shore is proud to have received recognition for our inpatient care, emergency room services, and surgical care.
