Giving Opportunities
Cash, Check, Credit Card
West Shore Healthcare Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501c3 non-profit organization. This means that your gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. Gifts can be made to any specific areas or projects that you would like to designate. To make a cash gift, please stop by West Shore Medical Center and ask for a Foundation staff member. Checks can be sent to: West Shore Healthcare Foundation, 1465 E. Parkdale Ave., Manistee, MI 49660. For security purposes, please make credit card gifts in person or by calling (231) 398-1270.
Bequests
When you name West Shore Healthcare Foundation in your will, trust, or other estate plans, your gift will provide long term assurance of quality local healthcare. By notifying the Foundation of your plans, we can help insure that your gift will be put to use according to your wishes.
Paypal
We can accept your gifts via Paypal. Be sure to note in the memo section of the Paypal form if you are designating your gift for a specific purpose. Paypal retains 2.2% + $0.30 per transaction.
Honorary Giving
Consider a gift to West Shore Healthcare Foundation in honor of a friend or family member to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, or other special holiday. West Shore Healthcare Foundation will promptly notify the individual to whom you would like your gift acknowledged.
Matching Gifts
Does your company offer an employee matching gift program? Many organizations do. Ask your supervisor for details on how you might expand your personal gift through a matching gift.
Memorial Giving
When loved ones are lost, it can bring great comfort to family and friends to make memorial contributions in their name. By choosing West Shore Healthcare Foundation as a memorial recipient, you can help insure that quality local healthcare continues to be provided to those in need. To request that memorial contributions be made in the name of your loved one, please include the following in the obituary notice: “The family of ... requests that contributions be made to West Shore Healthcare Foundation, 1465 E. Parkdale Ave., Manistee, MI 49660.”
Planned Giving
A planned gift is a contribution that results from a donor’s careful consideration of how a transfer will affect his or her current financial planning and long-range estate planning. This contribution will benefit others beyond the donor’s lifetime. Other benefits include either a fixed or variable income, reduced federal income tax and reduced capital gain tax liability. Planned gifts can be established through gifts of cash or appreciated assets such as stock, securities, or real estate. Common planned giving vehicles include: bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, charitable remainder trusts, and life insurance.
Stock Gifts
There are significant tax advantages to transferring gifts of stock to non-profit organizations. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution using appreciated stock, please contact the Foundation office at (231) 398-1270 for more information.
