Cardiac Rehab
At West Shore there are three phases in the cardiac rehab program.
Phase I
Phase I begins when you are still in the hospital. You will begin a program of passive and active exercise and prepare for discharge.
Phase II
In Phase II, you participate on an outpatient basis. Patients meet three times per week for up to twelve weeks and participate in an exercise program. They also receive lifestyle counseling on such topics as healthy nutrition and stress reduction. Your blood pressure and EKG are monitored routinely. Ongoing assessments and reports are provided to your physician.
Phase III
Phase III cardiac rehabilitation is designed for patient who choose to continue with a monitored exercise program. West Shore Health Connection offers similar equipment and monitoring and a qualified and trained staff to develop an exercise program to help achieve your rehab goals. It is not usually covered by insurance carriers and participants are responsible for payment.
