West Shore Medical Center's Radiology Services maintains state-of-the-art imaging capabilities to better serve the health care needs of our community. Today, we offer the latest diagnostic procedures through the expertise of a professional and dedicated staff of technologists and radiologists.

State-of-the-Art Technology
West Shore Medical Center's Radiology Department continually evaluates and upgrades its capabilities to remain state-of-the-art. West Shore is among a select group of hospitals equipped with the industry-leading 64-slice computed tomography (CT) technology. The diagnostic imaging system generates images that are unsurpassed in resolution and clinical detail. This new CT scanner provides medical staff with the most accurate images possible and patients with shorter, more comfortable exams.

A Filmless Radiology System
West Shore Medical Center uses PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), a digital system for electronic transmission of images such as x-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. This allows patient data to be available on a computer immediately, which generates faster results and more immediate care. It also allows physicians to consult more conveniently with physicians at other locations.

Radiology for Women
West Shore provides breast health services in a confidential, comfortable setting. Our Radiology Department includes a women's services suite that houses procedures primarily used by women, such as mammography and bone densitometry. In addition, West Shore has several technologists certified in mammography to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

Accredited and Certified
To ensure that our program meets the highest industry standards, West Shore is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) in extracranial cerebrovascular diagnostic exams, as well as peripheral venous and arterial testing.

In addition, the department's echocardiography lab is also certified by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories.

Locations
Radiology services are available at three locations in Manistee County. In addition to West Shore's main hospital, routine x-rays are available at Bear Lake Outpatient Services and Wellston Outpatient Services.
