Surgical Services

More than 3,500 inpatient and outpatient surgeries and other procedures are performed annually in West Shore Medical Center's state–of–the–art surgical services department. The surgical wing was part of a $12 million expansion project that was completed in 2002.
Today, a growing number of sophisticated procedures take place in West Shore's surgical services department, which houses two operating rooms. Procedures are routinely performed in gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general and vascular surgery, and otorhinlaryngology (ear, nose, throat).
West Shore's surgical services department is staffed by board–certified anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), highly–skilled registered nurses, surgical technologists, and other support staff.
