Visiting a Patient
Some of the best medicine for patients is to have visitors. For the convenience of our customers, West Shore Medical Center is pleased to offer extended visiting hours. However, we ask that certain guidelines be followed so a patient's medical care is not interrupted.
General visiting hours are from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. After 9 p.m., visitors can receive an after-hours pass by signing in at the information desk in the lobby. However, the staff will base visiting hours on each patient's needs and condition.
Critical Care Unit
Because of the nature of care provided in this unit, the staff works with the physician to determine visitation guidelines. Generally, visitors are limited to two people from the immediate family. All visitors need to check in with the staff before entering the critical care unit.
Deliveries
Mail, packages, and flowers are delivered to patient rooms on a daily basis. Including the patient's full name and room number on such items will help us accomplish prompt delivery. Items may be mailed to:

Our Cafeteria
West Shore Medical Center's newly expanded cafeteria is located in the hospital, near the public elevators. During warmer weather, visitors can dine in the cafeteria or on the patio. The cafeteria, which is open to all hospital associates and visitors, is staffed seven days a week, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
A full hot breakfast is served until 10:30 a.m. During lunch hours, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., enjoy a deli bar, hot homemade soups, a great salad bar, a grilling station, delicious desserts, and a hot lunch bar with numerous tasty and healthy options to choose from. A "grab and go" station is also available for packaged salads, sandwiches, and desserts on the run. The same assortment of options is also available for dinner, which is served from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
