West Shore Health Connection

Making the decision to start exercising often takes finding the right connection: the right program, in the right location, and at the right price. At West Shore Health Connection, we've pulled all the pieces together for you, so it is simple to start a fitness program and have a healthy lifestyle.

The Health Connection is located in the Northwest Michigan Health Center at 1293 East Parkdale Avenue in Manistee. Fitness classes are included in a membership. Flexible membership options are available, including a family rate.

The fitness facility has a variety of exercise equipment including treadmills, stair climbers, rowing machines, elliptical trainers, and stationary bicycles. There is also a free-weight room, stretching and toning area, and an aerobic circuit.

Attractive shower and locker room space and televisions for remote headphone use are offered. The Health Connection is part of West Shore Medical Center and an exercise plan with physicians can be easily coordinated.

The staff at the Health Connection consists of certified instructors and exercise specialists that can evaluate medical history and help develop short- and long-term fitness goals. They can determine target heart rate range, analyze body fat composition, and conduct fitness testing for strength, endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. All Health Connection staff members are CPR-trained.

To add variety and motivation to your exercise routine, try our fitness classes. We routinely offer kickboxing, circuit training, senior fitness, and aerobics courses. Classes are included in membership or a punch-card or drop-in fee is available. Specialty classes, such as yoga, Pilates, and aqua aerobics, are also offered.
